From 1943 until the end of the war, the "Gross Deutschland" Panzer Grenadier Division fought some of the toughest battles against the advancing Red Army. As the premier division of the German Army, it naturally fought in some of the most desperate sectors of the Eastern Front and to support its task, received the best military equipment the German arms industry could produce. During 1943, the men of the "Gross Deutschland" began to receive the best stocks of the new camouflage smock and helmet cover, (made from linen drill and printed in Sumpfmuster 4-pattern), it provided some protection as the GD aggressively attacked/defended against superior odds. This uniqure body of men can now be recreated for the Wargamer with this range of 20mm figures. They are suitable for other German Infantry who were also issued with this valuable camouflage uniform.
