Aerodrome 1.1 Product Descriptions
Aerodrome 1.1 Ruleset
This is the basic Aerodrome 1.1 reference. It contains the rules, aircraft characteristics for a original 37 "Aerodrome" aircraft types, an aircraft introduction chronology chart, scenarios, optional rules and variants, a suggested set of campaign rules, a description of Aerodrome 1.1 playing equipment and a list of 1/72 scale model aircraft covering the 37 aircraft.
The Aerodrome 1.1 Ruleset includes a copy of the Quick Reference Sheet and a copy of the Aerodrome Supplement #1
Quick Reference Sheet
This is a laminated, 8-1/2 x 11 sheet. One side is a copy of the Critical Hit Table, the other side has two charts: a Maneuver Chart showing examples of the allowable Aerodrome maneuvers, and a second chart showing the permissible patterns of fire for the rear gunners of various two-seater aircraft.
Aerodrome Supplement #1
This three-page Supplement expands the Aerodrome 1.1 aircraft set to a total of 68 types and variants, giving aircraft characteristics for all (including some minor corrections to the original aircraft data), as well as providing an updated and expanded aircraft introduction chronology.
Wooden Control Panel
These are the playing accessories that truly set Aerodrome 1.1 apart as a tabletop WWI air combat game. wooden simulated "cockpits", they are used to plot maneuver, altitude changes and machine gun fire, as well as to record damage. Maneuver, altitude and damage are plotted using wooden pegs; ammunition supply is tracked using expended l22 caliber shell casings in an "ammo belt" around the perimeter of the panel.
Laminated 8-1/2 x 11 Color Control Panel
Laminated 8-1/2 x 11 Color Control Panels provide a less expensive alternative to Wooden Control Panels. Each panel has a full-color graphic representation of an Aerodrome 1.1 Wooden Control Panel, with a blue-sky-and-clouds background. Plastic laminated, they are erasable when used with dry erase markers. Players can mark their maneuvers, altitude, machine gun fire and ammunition usage on the panel, making the appropriate erasures and changes each turn.
Rear Gunner Control Panel
These are small wooden panels used to mark machine gun fire and record ammunition expenditure for the rear gunner of a two-seater aircraft. As with the Wooden Control Panels, ammunitions supply is recorded using expended .22 caliber shell casings.
Diecast metal aircraft (Note: Limited quantities available.)
These "starter" aircraft are ideal for Aerodrome 1.1 players who do not choose to build and paint model aircraft; as they are fundamentally diecast metal toys, they may also be suitable for younger players (although, as with any toy, and especially since these aircraft have some moveable/removable small parts, care should be taken with younger children).
DataCards: For detailed description of the DataCards and Sets, click HERE
Aerodrome 1.1 Aircraft DataCards are quick reference cards for aircraft characteristics, extremely useful during Aerodrome 1.1 play. Each laminated, 3x5 card is double-sided, contains data for two aircraft or variants; a total of 34 different DataCards is available (17 Allied Powers and 17 Central Powers), covering all 68 aircraft types. The list of card sets available can be found on the reverse side.
Aircraft Stands
The bases are clear plastic hexagons, with a countersunk center hole to accept the screw-on antenna. Antennas are 5-segment standard Aerodrome 1.1 length antennas that will attach to the clear plastic bases (or some other type of base if the purchaser wishes). Recommendations for attaching aircraft tot he flightstand antenna are provided.
Playing Mats
4'x 6' full color, high resolution tabletop playing surfaces for Aerodrome 1.1, with an hexagonal grid for movement, printed on a tear-resistant vinyl-like material. Beautifully detailed and reproduced from original artwork, the mat depicts two opposing trench lines with No Man's Land between, fading off to countryside at each end. The hex grid is unobtrusive enough to allow the mat to be used for other gaming purposes, e.g., 1285 scale armor games.
