Game Information

Aerodrome 1.1 is a simple, easy-to-learn, fun-to-play miniatures game of aerial combat during World War I.  With simple rules, players "fly" colorful  models of WW1 aircraft using wooden "cockpit" control panels with each side attempting to shoot down the aircraft of the other side.

The game is played using 1/72 miniature aircraft mounted on radio antennae with a clear acrylic hex base to hold the whole thing upright. The game board, which is a 4'X6' full color, high resolution playing mat on tear resistant vinyl-like material, provides an aerial view of a WW1 battlefield marked off in large hexes. The antennae are telescoped up and down to indicate the plane's current altitude.

Pilots and gunners plot out three moves at a time. Moves are plotted using a unique control panel which is styled after a bi-plane control panel. This wooden  panel is quite attractive and comes complete with ammo/maneuver/damage markers. There is also a laminated 8-1/2 X 11 Color control panel which can be used with dry erase markers and there is a Rear Gunner Control Panel.

There can be anywhere between 2 and 12 players and game time usually runs between 20 and 60 minutes.  This is a great, fun game that moves along quickly and is quite addictive.  It is a great investment for clubs and as a family game.
